RUGBY BALL GRIP

MICRO GRIP

The “standard” grip style that perfectly balances grip with kicking distance. The grip on a rugby ball must be considered carefully to balance how easy a ball is to catch versus how far it can be kicked or passed.

HEX GRIP

The innovative design of Hex Grip balls feature a varying dimple structure. The specialized grip structure results in the best grip of any rugby ball - in any terrain.

WORLD RUGBY REQUIREMENTS

World Rugby requires seven things for all official rugby balls.

1. The ball is oval and made of four panels.

2. It has dimensions as shown here:

3. It weighs 410-460 grams.

4. Smaller balls may be used for matches between young players.

5. The ball is made of leather or a suitable synthetic material. It may be treated to make it water resistant and easier to grip.

6. Its air pressure at the start of play is 65.71-68.75 kilopascals, 0.67-0.70 kilograms per square centimeter, or 9.5-10.0 pounds per square inch.

7. Spare balls may be available during a match.
